Properly caring for your extensions can help ensure they last longer and remain as luxuriously luscious and beautiful as the day you bought them!
Washing Your Extensions
Excessive washing and styling will damage the cuticle and decrease the lifespan of the hair, We recommend that you wash your hair 1-2 times per week and use dry shampoo in between washes.
Always brush your hair properly before washing.
Start by separating the rows and brushing from the tips of your strands, successively working your way up the length and towards the root.
By following this simple step, you'll ensure that your locks are tangle free and ready to be washed thoroughly.
Use professional haircare products that are hydrating and high in moisture, hair extensions do not have access the vital moisturising oils that are produced from your scalp and need extra moisture and conditioning to stay soft and healthy.
DO NOT USE ANY PRODUCT that contains the corrosive chemical ingredient bis-3-aminopropylamine on these weft extensions as it could damage the band at the top of the weft which will result in the weft shedding prematurely.
To keep your hair extensions looking their best and nourished, use a shampoo formulated without parabens or sulphates. This can help ensure that you don't strip the vital moisture from them with unnecessary cleansing.
HOWEVER,
We do recommend that you wash your hair with a gentle sulfate deep cleansing shampoo every two weeks to remove product build and mineral buildup.
Always apply conditioner from mid-lengths to ends, never apply conditioner on your scalp as this could cause extensions to slip.
Styling Your Extensions
Extensions should NEVER be left weft and should always be dried to 100% after washing, swimming and sweating.
DO NOT LEAVE THE BASE OF YOUR WEFT OR TAPE WET the glue at the band will swell and expand causing the glue to lift and this will cause shedding.
Using excessive heat on hair extensions will reduce the lifespan and damage your hair.
Never use direct heat on any type of extension bond.
We recommend that you don't set your styling tool higher than 365°F.

Brushing Extensions

Make sure that you DON'T brush over your weft track.
You should avoid brushing wet extensions because they are more vulnerable to damage when wet, making them prone to stretching, breaking, and causing the bonds or wefts to weaken or slip.
Instead, gently detangle the extensions with a wide-tooth comb or brush specifically designed for extensions, starting from the ends and working your way up once they are dry or slightly damp.
You should brush your extensions regularly to avoid matting and tangling.
The longer your hair the easier it is going to tangle.
Brush your extensions first thing in the morning, during the day and before bedtime.
Sleeping With Extensions
Brush your extensions and apply a hair oil or serum before sleeping.
Braid your hair or tie it in a loose ponytail/bun before sleeping to prevent tangling.
Sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase is recommended when wearing extensions because these materials reduce friction, which helps prevent tangling, frizz, and breakage.
Unlike cotton, which can create friction and absorb moisture, silk and satin allow your extensions to glide smoothly as you sleep, maintaining their smoothness and prolonging their lifespan.
General Extension Care
You should do maintenance on your hair extensions every 4 to 8 weeks.
Regular maintenance is crucial because it ensures that the extensions remain securely attached, prevents tangling, and keeps the hair looking natural and healthy.
During maintenance, the extensions can be adjusted as your natural hair grows, and any issues like slippage or matting can be addressed, prolonging the lifespan of both your natural hair and the extensions.
Use caution when swimming - always tie your hair in a high bun before swimming to avoid getting your hair wet – If you are going to get your hair wet first apply a hair mask before swimming to add an extra layer of protection.
Yes Absolutely, Exercise will not cause damage to your extensions. Be sure to dry the base of your extensions in cases of excessive sweating.
Key ingredients in many sunscreens, such as Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone) and Octocrylene, are protective against UV rays but problematic for hair extensions.
Opt for mineral-based sunscreens that are free from Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane and Octocrylene.
